In 2023, JERA Global Markets launched the Women in Energy Forum, an employee-led group consisting of about 80 members operating across both our Singapore and UK offices. The Forum aims to provide female professionals a platform for meaningful conversations that promote support and learning for women, while providing networking opportunities.

JERA Global Markets was pleased to be at the 18th #LNGA Conference which took place in Singapore earlier this week. Jonathan Westby, SVP of LNG was a speaker on the LNG Veterans Panel along with other esteemed industry colleagues.

Relationships have always been the cornerstone of the LNG market and throughout the day, we heard from major LNG market participants on their perspectives on current trends in the spot and term market for LNG. JERA Global Markets was pleased to be able to present our thoughts as one of the world's largest buyers and traders of LNG and engage in productive dialogue with key players in the community.

JERA Global Markets has closed its one-year debut syndicated revolving credit facility totalling US$1.475bn. The oversubscribed syndication is supported by a total of 22 existing and new banks, where the facility will be used for general corporate purposes and shall apply only to LNG and related businesses.

JERA Global Markets and ADNOC Group (ADNOC Gas) have signed a multi-year LNG supply agreement. Under the terms of the agreement valued between US$500 million (AED 1.8 billion) and US$700 million (AED 2.5 billion), the contracted LNG volumes will be supplied from ADNOC Gas’ Das Project and will be delivered to JERA Global Markets’ global supply portfolio.

It was a special Sunday on 15 October as team JERA Global Markets came together in support of our partner charity Food from the Heart's 20th anniversary charity event. Celebrating two decades of dedicated service through its food support programmes, Food from the Heart is one of Singapore's leading food charities.

JERA Global Markets and Rhenus Logistics jointly announce the sale and purchase of Rietlanden Terminals B.V., following a competitive bidding process. In 2017, the Port of Amsterdam announced a sustainability strategy that disallows the handling of coal from 2030. JERA Global Markets and Rietlanden worked together to evaluate strategic options to secure the long-term future of Rietlanden, with the priority of ensuring continued activity of Rietlanden in a manner that is aligned to business objectives and consistent with energy transition pathways.

Antoine Monod, JERA Global Markets’ Head of Asian LNG Trading, participated in the Gastech 2023 Leadership Roundtable – “Will LNG trading redefine the global gas market landscape?”

He highlighted the crucial role of LNG trading for security of supply, a core component of JERA Global Markets’ raison d’etre and emphasised the need for a more functionally operational and well-structured market in order for the market to be truly commoditised.

JERA Global Markets' SVP for LNG, Jonathan Westby, was a panelist at Gastech 2023's Strategic Leadership panel: Securing Supply with Urgency. He shared his views on the global gas market and what JERA Global Markets has been doing to secure volumes in the face of continuously volatile market cycles.

"We have the tools and mechanisms in place to manage [future shocks] a bit more smoothly and we can shave off the peaks and troughs that we saw. Equally as important, growth in the long-term markets is essential. As an industry, we need to nurture both the short and long-term markets and continue to push them forward for good outcomes."

JERA Global Markets names Kazunori Kasai as Chairman and Justin Rowland as CEO, effective from 1 July.

Kazunori will step down from his current role as CEO to return to Tokyo to take up the position as Chief Optimisation Officer of JERA Co., Inc., while remaining on the Board of JERA Global Markets in the new position of Chairman. Justin Rowland will take over as CEO of JERA Global Markets from his current position as Managing Director, LNG.

Justin brings with him close to 30 years of experience in the energy and investment sectors. He joined JERA Global Markets in 2019 from EDF Trading where he spent 18 years in a variety of leadership positions including as Chief Finance and Risk Officer. He played a key role in the development of JERA Global Markets as a startup joint venture to its present-day position as a leading trader in global power and gas markets.

Built by Hyundai Samho H.I. (HSHI), the 174,000 m3 vessel is propelled by XDF engines and equipped with the latest technology – which include a high capacity and highly efficient Reliquefaction plant, Air Lubrication System (ALS), two Shaft Generators (PTO) and Air Resistance Shield.
